Home care nursing for Prolonged Bed-Ridden Patients by a multidisciplinary team

Related SDGs/ Goals we are supporting through this initiative 03 Good Health and Well-Being Home care nursing for prolonged bed-ridden patients by a multidisciplinary team is the collaboration between Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Dental Hospital (Salaya Campus) and Golden Jubilee Medical Center, in both dental and medical aspects. The objective is to provide Bed-Ridden Patients and elderly patients with equal access to public health services. This project ensures healthy lives and promotes well-being for everyone. Since the start of Home care nursing for prolonged bed-ridden patients by a multidisciplinary team in the fiscal year 2019 to 2022, the project has aimed to provide comprehensive care from a multidisciplinary team to the elderly who are physically unable to travel to the hospital. They can gain access to quality and safe healthcare services for their well-being. The project also promotes overall holistic health in elderly people and raise the quality of elderly people’s life in Thailand.

The Innovative Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Test Kit

Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital has launched an innovative rapid COVID-19 antigen test kit that can provide an accurate result within 15 minutes at an affordable price and easy-to-use. The technology to manufacture and distribute was provided by AFFINOME CO., Ltd., the only Thai manufacturer in 24 lists approved by Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The "No Smoking" campaign was established under the project Gen Z "Say No" to educate nursing students, and students realized the hazards and dangers of tobacco and electric cigarettes.

Monitoring and Evaluation Project for Implementation and Development of Providing Help for Early Childhood Children in Poverty in Child Development Center and Out-of-School Children in Bangkok

Early childhood is the stage for building a foundation for child growth and further learning in life. A great number of children in early childhood lack proper caregiving and development promotion resulting in an impact on a group of children to lack an opportunity to be nurtured well. Studying the situation of children in early childhood which is the vulnerable group in Bangkok and potential development of caregiver volunteers for the mentioned group of children could be used to improve caregiving for children in vulnerable group in Bangkok to be prepared for primary school learning.

The development of pattern in mental health promotion and protection in secondary school students.

In the present, the population all ages have an increasing number of mental health problems, especially among child and adolescence. The faculty of nursing, Mahidol University and the Faculty of engineering, Kasetsart university jointly developed the innovation mobile application in the name of “MU My Mind” for mental health screening, promoting and protecting secondary school students in Phutthamonthon district, Nakhonphatom province.

The Project for Continuous Development of Teenage Pregnancy Care System by Nurse-Midwives (Pink Star Clinic)

Teenage pregnancy, also known as adolescent pregnancy, is a major issue in the country and has a profound impact on mothers, families and society. The Faculty of Nursing has therefore continually implemented a project to develop teenage pregnancy care system by nurse-midwives, known as the Pink Star Clinic, for teenage mothers to gain knowledge on how to take care of themselves during pregnancy, as well as learning how to take care their kids and preventing premature pregnancy to help reduce the impact of this problem.

The Collaboration Project between Mahidol University and Nakhon Pathom Province For Helping Coronavirus-Infected Patients In 2019

From the situation of the epidemic of Coronavirus or COVID-19 that has massively spread in Thailand among schools, workplaces, and communities, it leads to the problem that hospitals and medical sites become unable to provide comprehensive care, which is why home or community quarantine is required to prevent the spread of the virus. The Faculty of Nursing recognizes the importance of managing and cooperating with relevant agencies in arranging public spaces in the community, monitoring patients’ symptoms, giving advice, and referring patients to receive appropriate treatment.

The Faculty of Nursing has conducted the Training Program of Nursing Specialty in Breastfeeding since 2018. The participants included registered nurses in the breastfeeding unit from various hospitals and nursing schools in Thailand.

Early Childhood Health System Development Project in Central and Western Regions

The Department of Pediatric Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University was responsible for the Early Childhood Health System Development Project in the Central and Western Regions and cooperated with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation in 2021–2022. The objectives were to enhance the growth and development of children from newborn to 6 years old by developing a health system and management of child development center at the district level and developing the capacity of a network of child development centers.

The nation has gone through a coronavirus pandemic, resulting in increased employment, an expansion of the labor market for services, and increased demand for caregivers. As a consequence, there is a high demand for childcare workers among families today.

The Project of Thai Youth Fight Against COVID-19, the Year 2020 and 2021: Raising awareness and participation of children and youth to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic

The National Institute for Child and Family Development at Mahidol University and the Child Safety Promotion and Injury Prevention Research Center (CSIP) at the Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital organized the activities that would allow children, youth, and teenagers to learn about COVID-19 and apply what they learned when they cared for the elderly in their homes.
