THE Impact Rankings
Times Higher Education (THE) is a university ranking institute from England, the world’s first ranking institute set to measure success of universities globally in terms of sustainable development goals (SDGs), as set by UN Thailand which is agreed to use as development framework by the international community, aiming to solve present global issues such as poverty, inequality, global warming, and peace, to support the “no one is left behind” idea. The following 17 goals are expected to be successful by 2030.
For each university that joins, THE Rankings evaluates four main criteria of indicators: 1) Research, 2) Policy and Campus Guidelines, 3) Connecting Thai and Global Society, and 4) Teaching and Learning.
Total score of each university derives from SDG 17 Partnership for the Goals, and three other SDG goals to reflect other professionalism of the university, with SDG 17 as 22% of total score, and 26% for each of other SDG. To be more specific, the total score is calculated as : (SDG17)(0.22) + (SDGx)(0.26) + (SDGy)(0.26) + (SDGz)(0.26).
