Mahidol University supports equality for all identities, groups, genders, and races by providing equal opportunity for study and work. According to “the Mahidol University regulations on the dress of students, B.E. 2021”, students are allowed to dress based on their gender identities during classes and the graduation ceremony. Foreigners and stateless persons can access all levels of education without discrimination according to the “Mahidol University Regulations on the admission of persons to study in undergraduate programs as a special case for persons who are not of Thai nationality, B.E. 2560”. Currently, there are 9 stateless students. Persons with physical disabilities can also access study for a bachelor’s degree at Ratchasuda College, a well-known educational center for improving the quality of life of people with physical disabilities in ASEAN, with undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses. Rehabilitation services are provided to students with physical disabilities, to prepare them for entrepreneurial and other career opportunities. The University provides a variety of support services for students with physical disabilities, including specially designed teaching and learning methods, facilitating examinations, and providing instructional media services appropriate for the needs of each individual, such as Braille production services for the visually impaired. Some services can provide technological equipment for special care in addition to the environmental facilities, such as a map showing disabled parking lots, lifts for wheelchairs, dormitories for disabled persons, beds for the handicapped, and unlimited scholarships, particularly for students with physical disabilities. The University promotes the awareness of transparent, verifiable good governance at every management level, from top executives and staff to students. Policy decision-making or important matters that affect the operation of the University must be conducted through meetings in which members of the public can express their views on the University’s management.

    The study of a model development of primary health care services integrated with social services for persons with disabilities project
    The study of a model development of primary health care services integrated with social services for persons with disabilities project is a project that Ratchasuda College Mahidol University. Received support from the Thai Health Promotion Foundation to bring the policy into practice by collaborating with government network partners and the public sector, including the National Health Security Office (NHSO), Sirindhorn National Medical Rehabilitation Institute (SNMRI) Ministry of Public Health, Thailand Council for Independent Living and Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. To drive policy into action to achieve sustainability (SDG 17) in the development/care of the health and well-being of people with disabilities (SDG 3) is to increase opportunities. /reduce disparity on access to health and social services for people with disabilities (SDG 10).

    Unlock the potential in every child.
    Mahidol University received a grant from the Austrian Government to create a representative study of children of the Migrant Learning Center (MLC) in Phop Phra and Tha Song Yang Sub-districts in Mae Sot Province to make a comparison with children in the nearby Thai Early Childhood Development Center (ECCD).

    Career Development and Business Incubation for People with Disabilities Two Career Training Courses: ‘from Herbal Crude Drugs’ and ‘from Flora and Plants’
    From 18th-20th July 2022, The Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Ratchasuda Colleague, and The Project of Institute Establishment for Sireeruckhachati Nature Learning Park of Mahidol University – under the funded project titled “Enhancing learning capacity for sustainable well-being of people with disabilities” with the sub-project (Objective 1.4) involving career development and business incubation for people with disabilities – jointly organized career training in two courses: ‘from Herbal Crude Drugs’ and ‘from Flora and Plants’. Both of the courses were developed in the way of engaging disabled learners in an authentic learning experience through a series of DIY activities, and were delivered both online and onsite at the location of the learners. This sub-project (Objective 1.4) is led by Associate Professor Dr Nuttaneeya Torugsa, Director of the Project of Institute Establishment for Sireeruckhachati Nature Learning Park.
