Mahidol University cafeterias are available in several locations to support the needs of students, personnel, and the general public. There are a wide variety of food products that meet the needs of consumers.

The university places great emphasis on access to quality food, nutrition, and a reasonable price. The university has the policy to promote healthy and safe food and a standard control of the food center. The university supports the products from community farmers and organic farming.

 

Mahidol University cafeterias are available in several locations to support the needs of students, personnel, and the general public. There are a wide variety of food products that meet the needs of consumers. The cafeteria has a variety of food including desserts, vegetarian, and Islamic food. The price is economical. All restaurant has been carefully selected and passed strict inspections according to the standards of the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health as follow:

  • The restaurant is subject to random food sampling for contaminants following the criteria of the Food Safety Programme, the Ministry of Public Health.
  • Restaurant operator receives annual training and education on hygiene.
  • Restaurant operators must undergo an annual health checkup.

Furthermore, there is an inspection by the audit committee according to service standard as follow:

  • Open-close on time,
  • Considerate about the environment, cleanliness, and food is sold at a set price, etc.,

Therefore, customers can be assured that the food distributed in this food court will be safe, hygienic, and healthy.

Salaya campus has cafeterias as follows:

  • MU Cafeteria is a central food court that locates at Mahidol Learning Center which is close to the university's student dormitory
    • To support the Plastic Use Reduction and Foam Use Banning Policy, Food court users who bring their containers will receive a discount from the restaurant. For example, a 2 baht discount for beverage containers, and a 5 baht discount for food containers.
    • There are 4 automatic water dispensers to ensure access to clean water and promote the use of portable cups to reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles. The water dispensers use a UF+UV system which can completely filter bacteria and microorganisms, and retain minerals. Filters have been certified by drinking water standards from National Sanitary Foundation (NSF).

Moreover, there is a shop selling organic vegetables " Phak Pa Rumphueng" by farmers at an affordable price. This is a collaboration of the local farmer enterprise together with Phutthamonthon district and Mahidol University under the concept of developing the area of the university for maximum benefit. The area of an organic farm, approximately 4 rai on the side of the Faculty of Medical Technology, plants organic vegetables for quality vegetables, fresh, clean, and safe. This creates jobs for the local farmer.
