Good Health and Well-being, one of the main goals of Mahidol University

The Service Solution Design Competition is a developmental and multidisciplinary project designed to align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being.

The project is a collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Division of International Relations of Mahidol University, and the MUIC programs, including the Communication Design Program, Business Administration Program, and the Travel and Service Business Entrepreneurship Program.

2022

Initially, the project began with the collaboration between MUIC and Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital to hold a student competition titled “SiIC (Siriraj-MUIC) BioDesign Competition on Medicine and Health,” which encouraged students from both institutions to present their scientific and innovative solutions on bio-design issues focusing on medicine and health. Its goal is to improve students’ learning experiences while also contributing benefits to society. The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital offers a Bio-design program, which combines innovations in medicine and interdisciplinary studies to create technologies that could elevate healthcare products.

Aside from generating bio-design concepts for practical use, the contest allowed students to acquire experience in conducting the prototype process and promoting teamwork skills. In addition, it created academic networking and promote collaboration between students of the two institutions.

The activities included three workshops collectively. In June and May, the Design Thinking Workshops were conducted by faculty members of MUIC and the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital acting as trainers. After training, the pitch was on June 24, 2022.
